I got some feedback on this guy saying he was looking too hellboyish. I think they were right, so I made some adjustments and fixed a few areas that were bugging me.
Thanks McLean! This is all photoshop. I usually use one of the default round brushes where the opacity is determined by the pressure used. I'll put down pretty rough strokes and then go in with a lot of color picking to clean areas up.
Looks great Joe... you know, it doesn't bother me that it may have looked too much like Hellboy. That isnt necesarily a bad thing. ANyone that draws inspiration from Mignola probably has good taste too.
Thanks Juan, I'm going to be doing a couple different images with him. I think it would have bothered me to have that similarity hanging around. And I think he works better like this anyway.
Nice man, I love the "brushwork" on his clothing. Its something I've been wanting to push more towards, myself. Are you using Painter?
